RCMP Gala 2008!

Posted on November 18, 2008

This weekend I was in Toronto for the annual RCMP Gala at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. The event is put on by the RCMP Foundation to raise money to help out kids in need all across the country. It was good to see some old friends that I have been shooting with for years and to be inspired by the stories of how people are trying to make a difference.

Here are some of my favorites from the evening.

Farewell to old friends

Posted on November 13, 2008

I know that this goes against business blog ettiquette but…

This past week was a rough one for Bella who has had a bladder tumour for the last year and a half or so. While it was managable for most of the time, things took a sharp turn for the worse and we decided that she did not need to suffer any longer. This comes almost exactly a year after her best friend Spotty passed away.

Thanks for the constant fun, enthusiasm, and love over the years…

Martin 50th Anniversary shoot

Posted on November 11, 2008

I know what you’re thinking, “50th Anniversary? Did they get married when they were in elementary school?” All I can say is that I hope I look half this good and have half the energy and charm that this wonderful couple does on Stephanie’s and my 50th!

The OFCRC Annual Charity Masquerade Ball

Posted on November 4, 2008

This past weekend I was lucky enough to photograph the Overbrooke-Forbes Community Centre Annual Charity Masquerade Ball. Yes that’s a mouth full! The night was a fun straight through and resulted in a lot of neat shots.

Jen & Tony - The Last Wedding for ‘08

Posted on November 3, 2008

That’s right, the last wedding of 2008 and a great one to end off with!. Jen and Tony last appeared on the blog after their engagement portraits back in September so I knew that this would be a fun day. In typical Italian style, it was indeed a great day even though it rained every moment. From St Anthony’s Church to Sala San Marco, what a day!

Sussana & Jeremy’s wedding (well some of it!)

Posted on October 30, 2008

When I was a called only a few weeks ago for this last-minute booking, I was a little unsure of how it would go. I was to do just some group shots and the reception since the couple had already been married on an icefield in Alaska! As it turned out, the shoot was just great and a lot of fun. No one can deny that Italians (if I may generalize for a moment) know how to throw a party!

Annie & Ivan in Chelsea

Posted on October 28, 2008

A couple of weeks ago I started my wedding day in Gatineau for Annie’s getting ready. It was obvious from the start that the day was going to be great when I met her wonderful family. We had perfect weather for the ceremony at St Stephens in Chelsea, the portraits in the Gatineau Park, and finally the reception at Les Jardins du Château in Gatineau.  A beautiful day for everyone!
